We will do our best to accommodate you, but here are a few things to keep in mind . . .
We book our stylists on a daily and hourly schedule, we must provide these policies in order to ensure fairness and respect of the stylists time, schedule, and loss of income to a small business. We appreciate your understanding.
If we find fleas, matting that can be brushed out, or compacted fur on your pup while they are getting groomed, we will automatically remove them and an applicable fee will be added onto their grooming charge.
Pets groomed on a regular basis adjust and cooperate to the routine. Pets that are not groomed every 4 to 8 weeks may become matted. Matting occurs from lack of grooming, coat overgrowth, not routinely being brushed, or a coat not being combed through prior to getting to getting wet. Most pup owners do not see the severity of mats as they are on the under layer of their coat attached to their skin, which is not seen much from the top first layer coat. When matting is severe and/or attached to the skin the only humane way to remove the mats is to shave the coat off to the skin line. In some cases where the matting is not severe and only covers a small area, we can remove them by splitting, thinning, and then brushing them out without causing as much distress to the pup. In some cases this cannot all be done in one service to prevent discomfort, and will need you to come in again to complete the service. For any de-matting and/or shave will have an additional fee.
We will only proceed with this shave de-matt grooming service with your signed signature and your understanding of how your pup will look after their appointment. If you own a poodle, doodle, or any curly hair dog, your dog must be brushed every day down to the underneath layer, not just the top, to properly care for your dogs coat. By attending Mr. Specks you understand that, if you neglect your dogs coat and do not brush them daily as the ownership of that type of hair requires, your dog may need to be shaved (with your consent) when you bring them to get groomed.
If your dog becomes too emotionally distraught or stressed, we will stop the service for the safety of your pet and our groomers and will only charge for the services we were able to complete. If you’d like to attempt to finish your service at a different time, we will book you another appointment as soon as we can and additional charges may apply.
We are more than happy to add you to our waitlist if you are trying to get your pup in sooner! Sometimes we have appointments open last minute, and we will contact the clients on our list in a first call first serve fashion.
For all new clients, a credit/debit card will be taken at the time of booking to secure your appointment and will be charged in the case a late/ no-show, or reschedule fee is applicable.
If you do not show up to your scheduled appointment and/or we were not notified in any way before your appointment that you will not be in attendance, you will be charged $50 if you booked a bath and $90 if you booked a haircut to compensate for the groomers time.
If you need to reschedule for any reason, we just please ask for at least 24 hours notice (before 5pm) to avoid a fee and to help us keep everyone happy and on schedule. For all cancellations made after 24 hours of the scheduled appointment, a$50 fee per bath or haircut will be applied to your credit/debit card.
If you aremore than 15 minutes latefor your scheduled appointment and we do not hear from you to let us know, we will apply a$10 fee and we cannot guarantee that the groomer will be able to perform the requested service in full. Due to our groomers being on a back-to-back schedule, after being 15+ minutes late and you’d like us to finish the full service, a charge of $20 will apply for the groomers extra time and needing to delay other clients. If you are more than 25 minutes late we have the right to mark you as a no-show and will charge the no-show fee to your credit/debit card.
After being contacted that your pet is ready we can watch them free of charge for 30 minutes. A$10 kennel fee will be charged per 30 minutesafter the initial 30 minutes has passed. We want your pups to be picked up ASAP to ensure the utmost comfort for your pup. (We recommend having your pup join our daycare, so after their groom they can play with other pups/ people if quick pick ups aren't possible for you!)
Up to date Rabies for grooming appointments
We want you to be completely satisfied with the grooming services you receive. After each groom, we will make sure you are happy with the results. If you notice anything you don't like when you get home, please contact us within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment so our stylists can schedule a time to alter the groom to your liking, free of charge. Re-do appointments must be scheduled no more than 7 days after the initial groom. If a correction is not possible, we will review some options for you. The cost of grooming service in its entirety may not be refunded. Our stylists do the best they can with what the condition of your pets hair is in. We will always go over with you if we don't feel we can achieve the look you are going for, or need to wait until your pup's hair is in healthier shape to receive the best result possible.
Once your pup leaves our salon, we are no longer liable for anything that happens to your pup after this time such as injury, scratches, etc as we do not know what could have happened after leaving the salon. If you believe something may have happened at our facility, we will review the entire video footage of your pups appointment to analyze if something happened under our care.
We require all of our daycare dogs to have Leptospirosis & Influenza Flu vaccines in addition to the standard required vaccinations: Bordetella, DPP/Parvo, & Rabies. They must also be neutered or spayed if they are older than 6 months of age.
If we find fleas on your pup while they are in daycare, we will inform you and give them a bath with a flea removal which will be added to their daycare fee at pick up.
If you drop your pup off for daycare before we open (Mon - Fri 7:45am - 7:59am or Sat 9:45am - 9.59am)an additional $5 will be added to their Daycare stay.
If you contact us before our closing hours to let us know you will be late to pickup your pup (Mon-Fri after 7pm or Sat after 5pm) an additional $10 will be added onto their daycare stay and an additional $10 will be charged every 10 minutes until the pup is picked up. If you cannot pickup by 60 minutes after closing, please read the following information below.
If you do not pick up your pup from daycare by closing and we have not heard from you regarding your arrival time,your pup will be boarded overnight and a fee of $100 will be added onto their daycare stay. This fee will apply if we have heard from you, and you inform us you will be unable to pick up until an hour or more after we close (Mon - Fri after 8pm & Sat after 6pm.)
We do our absolute best to accommodate our clients busy schedules. Our daycare early/late fees exist so we can make sure our hard working team is compensated for their extra time to make sure your pup is taken care of.
